Scope of the seminar:

  • Gut Health issues have broad implications for the overall health of birds, animal welfare, the production efficiency of flocks, food safety, and environmental impact. The importance of this topic has grown over the past two decades. In this training we will cover the main challenges in the gut health management (early feeding, coccidiosis control trends, dealing with bacterial enteritis and managing gut health issues and their consequences).
  • Food safety today is one of the top priorities in the poultry industry since poultry meat and eggs continues to be a major concern for consumers. Why is Salmonella Infantis such a challenge? Contaminants? In this training we will cover the link of food safety with gut health and the main challenges of food safety in poultry including zoonoses Salmonella, Campylobacter and antimicrobial resistance in the poultry production chain.
